California

• Updated California Preliminary Change of Ownership Report (2-21) (Change of Ownership). The updated form is now available in all versions of SoftPro. 

Indiana 

• On February 18, 2021, Governor Holcomb signed the Indiana Land Title Association's (ILTA) House Bill 1056 (HB 1056) to effectively reverse the 2020 Senate Enrolled Act No. 340 (SEA 340). SEA 340, which became law effective July 1, 2020, changed an "or" to an "and" in Indiana Code 32-21-2-3(a), so that both a notarial acknowledgement and proof was required to record an instrument. 

Georgia

• Effective January 1, 2021, O.C.G.A. §44-14-366 was amended to change the term of a contractor's or subcontractor's ability to file an affidavit of nonpayment from 60 days to 90 days.
