SoftPro Customer Testimonial — Pam Butler

For decades, Pam Butler and the team at Near North Title Group have relied on SoftPro to streamline their operations and stay ahead of industry changes. Pam sat down with us to share how SoftPro Select's automation tools and dashboards have transformed efficiency for her team. 

Pam Butler has been a SoftPro customer for nearly 30 years, so she recalls a time before SoftPro when she had to retype everything on a typewriter if a mistake was made. In the early days, she was initially using SoftPro to create documents and cut checks, but she acknowledges that the way Near North Title Group utilizes the software has expanded immensely since then. "Now we are able to seamlessly go paperless because we can create tasking triggered by formulas which have a waterfall effect," Pam explains. She also emphasizes how helpful it is to be able to reference the status of a file at any time instead of relying on that information "just being in someone's head."

Pam notes that a more recent gamechanger for the Near North team has been the implementation of SoftPro Dashboard powered by Power BI. "It gives us the ability to track real-time revenue, orders opened and closed, and provide that information to leadership and senior management," she explains. "To have that data easily accessible is huge for us." Pam also cites the ability to generate work lists as another feature that has helped the team see important information on their files at a glance. 

Near North Title Group stays efficient by utilizing SoftPro 360, the free vendor portal that links SoftPro users to a nationwide network of over 90 vendors for services such as eRecording, CPLs, jackets, eClosings, property and tax searches, and more. "We're able to automate a lot of the processes with the [SoftPro 360] vendors so that it doesn't even require a human touch, and that's a big time saver for us," explains Pam. She explains that Near North has over 1600 SoftPro 360 automations that run on any given day. Automating those processes frees up invaluable time and mental energy for the team to focus on other work. 

Another SoftPro product that Pam and her team love using is SoftPro Banking. The SoftPro Banking platform in SoftPro Select allows users to securely send and receive wire transfers from a network of integrated banks in the U.S. Not only are Pam and her team able to approve and send wires from within SoftPro, they're also "able to control the permissions on our side of who can send and authorize or approve outgoing wires," she explains. Pam also appreciates that they can set up security permissions by dollar amount, so different people within the Near North team have different permissions dependent on the dollar amount of the wire. She notes that receiving wires through SoftPro Banking is also a time saver because the team no longer has to log into the bank's website; they know immediately when a wire is received because it shows up directly in SoftPro.
