On November 20, 2019, the CFPB published its Fall 2019 Rulemaking Agenda as part of the Fall 2019 Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions.
The Rulemaking Agenda sets forth the matters that the Bureau anticipates having under consideration during the period from October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020. Some key agenda items are the Truth in Lending Act, TRID Guidance, HDMA, and a review of existing rules including TRID.
Also, while CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger will continue to use enforcement actions when deemed necessary, we can expect to see the CFPB's attention shift to highlight education, regulation and supervision.
We can also expect to see an increase in coordination between the CFPB and Federal, State and international regulators. We will see the CFPB take a more collaborative approach with financial institutions to better serve the agency's goals, as well.
